The Distillation Story—

We are lucky to work with fragrant and fresh Tea Tree grown right here in the Pacific Northwest through our friends at Wiggle Way Farms. Tea tree’s aromatics are sharp and minty fresh with aromatic notes of citrus, camphor & eucalyptus.

The Hydrosol—


Physically: Tea Tree carries invigorating and crisp aromatics. It functions as an excellent cleansing and antimicrobial mist and is well-loved for an itchy scalp, minimizing breakouts & excess oil, as a deodorizer, a pre— & post— exercise cleansing mist, as an aftershave and on feet to minimize surface bacteria.

Emotionally: Tea tree supports the creation of healthy boundaries and dispelling of energetic stagnation. Especially helpful to ‘clear the air’ as it has a way of cutting cords and restoring right order.

Like all of our Hydrosols, it is copper-distilled with fresh spring water, collecting and bottling up 100% fresh distillate.


Best Use & Methods :

Mist your Hydrosol onto clean face or hands until saturated, and pat into skin for ample hydration. For added moisture morning and night, follow by gently massaging a nourishing facial oil into the skin, and finish with another mist of your Hydrosol to lock in moisture. Your daily use restores the skin’s natural PH balance.

  • Hydrosols, also known as Distillates, are the subtle, and often aromatic waters resulting from slowly distilled plant material, and are some of nature's best antioxidants for the skin. Lovingly made using hand collected local spring water, combined with ethically wildcrafted and organically grown plant material, they are distilled in a traditional copper alembic still.

    Alchemists from all over the world have performed transformational distillations in these traditional stills for over 3,000 years, and this artisan process still remains the same! The actual method of performing our distillations has a 5-7 hour duration, a much slower process compared to more commercialized modes of skin care production. What results, is a nutrient-rich, energetic, and authentic Hydrosol, containing the plant's own suspended micro particles of essential oil, plant acids, even a plant's specific essence and memory imprint. Each offers its own unique botanical remedy dependent on the plant distilled, thus leading to the reference that a Hydrosol is a hologram of the plant itself!

    Hydrosols are incredibly gentle and well-suited for beings of all ages and sensitivities (including babies and pets alike). Wildcare Hydrosols are recommended as a daily facial toner, and play an important role in protecting and nourishing the skin from everyday pollutants. In addition to a being a supreme skin tonic, your Hydrosol may also be used as a holistic and energetic mist, scalp tonic, added to baths, and used in conjunction with our Clay Masks.

    Do Hydrosols smell like the essential oils I’m familiar with? 
    Sometimes yes — sometimes no. Through the process of distilling, a plant's aroma can shift greatly-- for example, distilled lavender smells more like sweet & earthy honey than the sharp and often crisp essential oil one is familiar with! To us, these variations are the beauty and art of distillation. The aromas vary from plant to plant, and can also shift batch to batch depending on where and when the plants are harvested. While some Hydrosols will have a much more subtle aroma than others, be assured they each carry their own supreme healing nutrients.   • We recommend working with our products within 6 months of opening. Hydrosols are fragile by nature and require thoughtful care. The botanicals we use generally have a shelf life once distilled of 1-2 years, however various factors do play a role in its lifespan. We highly recommend storing your bottles in a cool, dark place, away from direct sunlight, as well as keeping the contents sterile. This means keeping the cap on tight and using the mister top, keeping hands and other items out of the contents. Following these suggestions will keep it consistent to the scent at the time of purchase.
