The Distillation story—

This was Wildcare’s first ever flagship Hydrosol back in 2015.
Our first family garden was in Ventura, California where we had these two botanicals growing side by side. We saw how they spoke to each other and lived in harmony, one providing shelter for another and thriving through all conditions. After hours of research & experimentation in home distillation, this Hydrosol was born and completely changed how I integrated with plants and my skin. A couple of weeks went by as I committed to spraying this Hydrosol as I watched my skin’s health quickly improve. Out went a prescribed cream I was not connected to using, in came the powerful plants that gave me purpose. Wildcare was born at the end of 2015 with a curated line of additional skincare items that complimented this flagship Hydrosol.


The Hydrosol—

Physically: This resinous duo is protective & anti-inflammatory, offering gentle relief from eczema, psoriasis, rashes & other minor skin irritations. It functions magnificently as a restorative daily scalp tonic for itching & dandruff & can be worked with topically on sore muscles to boost circulation.

Emotionally: Rosemary & Bay Laurel have an affinity to move mental stagnancy & revitalize a low mood. You may see it as a charm for enhancing memory, clarity, focus & as a grounding guardian of your peace & wellbeing.


Best Use:

For skin: Mist your Hydrosol onto clean face or hands until saturated, and pat for ample hydration. For added moisture morning and night, follow by gently massaging a nourishing facial oil into the skin, and finish with another mist of your Hydrosol to lock in moisture. Your daily use restores the skin’s natural PH balance.


For scalp : Mist after a bath or shower and style as usual. Can be used as often as needed for growth support, dandruff, itching and dry patches.

  • Hydrosols, also known as Distillates, are the subtle, and often aromatic waters resulting from slowly distilled plant material, and are some of nature's best antioxidants for the skin. Lovingly made using hand collected local spring water, combined with ethically wildcrafted and organically grown plant material, they are distilled in a traditional copper alembic still.

    Alchemists from all over the world have performed transformational distillations in these traditional stills for over 3,000 years, and this artisan process still remains the same! The actual method of performing our distillations has a 5-7 hour duration, a much slower process compared to more commercialized modes of skin care production. What results, is a nutrient-rich, energetic, and authentic Hydrosol, containing the plant's own suspended micro particles of essential oil, plant acids, even a plant's specific essence and memory imprint. Each offers its own unique botanical remedy dependent on the plant distilled, thus leading to the reference that a Hydrosol is a hologram of the plant itself!

    Hydrosols are incredibly gentle and well-suited for beings of all ages and sensitivities (including babies and pets alike). Wildcare Hydrosols are recommended as a daily facial toner, and play an important role in protecting and nourishing the skin from everyday pollutants. In addition to a being a supreme skin tonic, your Hydrosol may also be used as a holistic and energetic mist, scalp tonic, added to baths, and used in conjunction with our Clay Masks.
