Something very special about this essence is that as the late Spring vines began to grow new leaves, and little pre-flower buds started to emerge, a beautiful brown and cream-colored Junco bird decided the honeysuckle fortress would be a wonderful place for its nest. We visited this mama bird every day as she laid 4 quarter-sized eggs. When the babies were born, we greeted them every morning as we watered the honeysuckle vine very carefully. A few weeks later on the morning of the Strawberry full moon, we were ready to make an essence— and to our surprise, the new babies had just left the nest. This essence is charged with the loving and tender energy of our bird neighbors, the sweet Junco family.

Watching a mama bird build her nest, tucked into the center of the honeysuckle, surrounding by swirling branches & an outer layer of green-speckled leaves brought me to the first real meeting with our honeysuckle we’ve been growing for 5 years. As babies were born, Mama bird stayed in a nearby Magnolia tree, coming down only to feed and to protect, mostly trusting the safety of the honeysuckle in her distance. You can feel home no matter if you are near, traveling, or live far away. The knowing lives inside you.
